Dances Of India

Bouquet of Indian dance forms

Octave-2014 crafts mela at Shilparamam got off to a colourful start and on Sunday a variety of dance forms were presented by artists from all over the country mesmerising the audience. For the Hyderabadis it was a refreshing experience as artists from across the country came up with some stunning dance performances depicting the different cultures of India. Artists performed the Kathak, and enthralled the audience with their wonderful combination of class, elegance and poise. They also came up with some of the well-known dances like Bhiu (Assam), Rai Chandi (Sikkim) Bizu (Tripura) and Chalam (Manipur). The rich blend of colourful attires of the dancers only enhanced the ambience and transported the audience into a different world. Photographs G. Ramakrishna
